Did you know?
That U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Oregon, and U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, have introduced bill HR 4646 which proposes a 1 percent tax on all transactions at any financial institution. Any deposit made or moved around within your accounts would be taxed 1 percent. This would include your paycheck, Social Security check, and, in fact, any cash that is deposited in your accounts, by direct deposit or hand delivered, would be taxed.
President Obama’s finance team is recommending this transaction tax. The plan is to keep it under the radar and pass it in the November lame duck session. This ought to be a wakeup notice for those of you who believed Obama was only going to tax those earning over $250,000 a year. If you earn $40,000 per year, you would pay an additional $400 taxes. Did you know?
That buried deep in the Cap and Trade Act HR 2454 is a provision that will require you to have to get a license for your home. Beginning one year after the enactment of the Cap and Trade Act, you will not be able to sell your house unless you retrofit it to comply with the energy and water efficiency standards in this act. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the average cost to a family of four will be $6,800 per year. No one will be excluded!
This will be like an auto license. It must be displayed in a prominent place in your home and you will not be able to sell your home without one. You will be required to have the energy efficiency of your home measured and brought up to government standards to get a license. The estimated cost for the inspection is $200. Your home will have to be recertified on a regular basis, perhaps as often as once a year.
The EPA administrator is authorized to raise the standards every year even above the automatic increases in the bill.
Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself at http://www.nachi.org/forum/fl4/cap-and-trade-license-required-your-home-4475 O/ or http://www. federalobserver.com/2009/10/01 /thinking-about-selling-your-house.
This is a blatant effort by the Democrats to enlarge the government bureaucracy and to force you to upgrade your home before you can sell it.
Can’t afford to upgrade? Tough then you will not be able to sell your home.
This act even includes mobile homes.
This bill has already passed the House and is waiting for action by the Senate.
Rep. Tim Walz voted for cap and trade. In fact, Tim has voted in lock step with House Leader Nancy Pelosi 95 percent of the time. Yes, Tim may be a nice guy, but can we afford him? It is time to clean house.
It does not matter that you have been a lifelong Democrat; think very carefully before you vote this November. Middle-class America is being led to slaughter.
