Domestic Engineers

Domestic Engineers Extension Learning Circle met on Sept. 23, 2010, at the home of Elaine Baer.
President Sharon Jahnke called the meeting to order. The Extension Learning Circle creed was recited together. There was no secretary’s report. Darla Christianson gave the treasurer’s report.Neva Mathison made a motion that Michael Willey be paid for the expense and work done on the program booklets she made for us. Phyllis Hamborg will send her a thank you note.
Bev Diercks reported that five members attended the Extension S.E. District Fall Event, “Families, Fabrics and the Forest,” in Kasson on Sept. 28.
Freeborn County will host the Extension Spring Cluster Event on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Americas Best Value Inn in Albert Lea. The theme will be “Australia.”
President Sharon Jahnke handed out the Freeborn County Home Council handbook to each member.
Betty McGraw, volunteer services coordinator for St. Peter Regional Treatment Center, sent an appeal to the Domestic Engineers for Christmas donations for the residents. Jean McCarthy gave a handout of this appeal to each member. Baer moved that donating should be up to each individual. Perky Smith seconded the motion. It passed.
Diercks will host the October meeting. The program will be a style show from Bon Worth of Medford. Phyllis Hamborg will take Halloween treats to Broadway Board and Care Plus.
Neva Mathison made a motion to adjourn. Gen Montei seconded it. Sharon Jahnke gave a reading, “The Goose Story.”
Baer handed out the Domestic Engineers 2010-2011 program books. The members filled out the needed information. Baer served dessert.
