Girl on bike hit by car

A girl riding her bicycle was reportedly hit by a vehicle Thursday evening near the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Highway 109 in Alden, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. She was transported to Albert Lea Medical Center by her parents. No other information was available as of press time.

The Minnesota State Patrol was the lead agency for this incident; however, no information was available about this on the media website.

Police arrested Janine Marie Herka for fourth-degree driving under the influence, third-degree test refusal, open bottle and no seatbelt after a traffic stop at 10:24 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of West Main Street and South Washington Avenue, reports stated.

Damage reported at various parks

A window was reported broken out of the Edgewater Park Cottage, 1600 Edgewater Dr., at 12:14 p.m. Thursday, according to police reports. Damage was also reported at Eberhart Park, Valley Park and Academy Park.

House broken into

A house at 24262 810th Ave. was reported broken into at 7:23 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sheriff’s Office reports.

Tools reported stolen

Tools were reported missing out of a garage at 613 Edgewood Ave. at 12:29 p.m. Thursday, according to police reports.

Tools were also reported stolen from 14140 U.S. Highway 69 in Twin Lakes at 3:57 p.m. Thursday, reports stated.
