Habitat for Humanity fundraiser competition

Freeborn County and Mower County affiliates of Habitat for Humanity are participating in a fundraising competition. The county that raises the most of money will donate a playhouse to a participating child care facility in that county. This will take place in the form of a raffle. Every $50 a child care facility raises, one raffle ticket will be placed in the corresponding center’s drawing bin. Mower/Freeborn Habitat for Humanity is coordinating their final event for the playhouse challenge this weekend at HyVee in Albert Lea and Austin locations.
With each donation to Habitat for Humanity, the contributor will have the option to choose the preschool of their choice to win the playhouse. The participating preschools are: Children’s Center, Albert Lea, HeadStart Program of Freeborn County, Salvation Army, Freeborn County, First Congregational Pre-School, Austin, Apple Lane, Austin, and Discovery Learning Center, Austin.
A drawing is Monday on World Habitat Day in coordination with this event to determine if Mower County or Freeborn County has raised the most contributions. The winning county will determine which preschool will be selected to win the playhouse.
