Funeral services for June Elizabeth Christianson, age 87, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. George Marin will officiate. Interment will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. June Christianson

June died peacefully Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.

June Elizabeth Christianson was born on June 16, 1923, to Harry and Hilda (Otto) Wolkerstorfer in St. Paul. She grew up in St. Paul and attended the public school of Ramsey County. After school, June was employed in the office of Farewell, Osmond & Kirk Co. On Dec. 19, 1953, she was united in marriage to Ernest Christianson in St. Paul. The couple moved to the Hartland area where June loved being a homemaker and also helped Ernie with the family business, Christianson Plumbing & Heating. June was a member of Assemblies of God Church. She was an excellent musician and in her younger years enjoyed singing in the church and elsewhere. She also played organ and accordion. June’s home and family were of the utmost importance to her. She was gifted in and enjoyed decorating and arranging flowers. After Ernie passed away June lived with Tim and Kim and loved being able to spend time with her grandsons. Blessed be her memory.

Survivors include her son, Timothy H. Christianson and wife Kim; grandsons, Jacob Christianson and special friend Annie Steffens, Timothy E. Christianson and Nicholas D. Christianson; sister, Lois Jerry; brother, Harry and wife Marlette Wolkerstorfer; sisters-in-law, Elsie Brink and Ruby Wiedenheff; brother-in-law, Donald and wife Margret Christianson; many special nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest H. Christianson; sister Evelyn (Morris) Heitzman; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Einar (Ann) Christianson, Norman (Ardis) Christianson, Ralph (Ann) Christianson, Evelyn Hintz, Raymond (Lois) Christianson, Oscar Christianson, Mike Jerry, Ernest Brink and Bill Wiedenheff.
