Organizations: First Lutheran Church Women

First Lutheran Church Women met at noon in Bethany Hall with a reformation luncheon. This was the 50th anniversary of the reformation luncheon.

Prelude music was provided by Joan Holt.

Co-president Jinni Olson welcomed everyone. The blessing and thanksgiving was read at the table.

Devotions were given by Hazel Senske.

Karen Mandsager introduced the program “Touring the Bible” by Joanne Hocker.

The following business meeting was held.

Secretary’s report: The report was approved as printed and will be placed on file.

Treasurer’s report: None, due to the absence of Beth Doyle.

Correspondence report: Nothing to report. Brochures from River Crossings and Global Health have been placed in the library.

Jinni Olson conducted the business meeting.

Old business: None.

New business: A review of officers for 2011. The group is still in need of vice presidents. They have asked at least 20 women.

Jan Overgaard announced that Friends at First met on Tuesday, Oct. 19, with Steve Zenk and Katie presenting “Identity Theft.”

Offering prayer: A prayer by Martin Luther was said in unison.

Caring and Sharing: Co-chairs Neva Mathison and Marge Moine and their committee served two funerals in September.

Thanks to Unit III Co-chairs: Virginia Hermanson and Helen Lovik and their committee: Audrey Christensen, Irene Christensen, Lavina Fellner, Donna Henrickson, Norma Ingvaldson, Burnett Loge, Kathy Olson, Lorraine Slette, Arlis Smith, Maxine Wignes, Judy Kropp, Sharon Johnson and Marilyn Chafee.

Decorating: Virginia Hermanson and Cheryl Moran Dining Room Co-chairs: Lorraine Fjelstad and Helene Westrum.

Greeters: Lots Drommerhausen, Joyce Johnson and Nancy Jenson.

Hostesses: Virginia Hermanson and Cheryl Moran.

Friday, Nov. 5: Church Women United, World Community Day, 9:15 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Albert Lea.

Nov. 10-17: Used-A-Bit & Used-A-Bit Plus items may be brought to the church.

Wednesday, Nov. 10: FLCW program at 1:15 p.m. Thank Offering will be received.

Friday, Nov. 19: Holidays Ahead set-up day.

Friday, Nov. 19: Christmas at Home concert at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 20: Holidays Ahead 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
