After winning their first four games, the New-Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers have lost two straight, including a 34-13 loss at Maple River Friday.
“We played as poorly as we have all year,” NRHEG head coach Dan Stork said. ” Turning the ball over eight times did us in.”
Maple River built a 20-point lead in the second quarter off three scores by quarterback Micheal Lewis. The Panthers’ Sam Lundberg rushed for a score to pull within 13 before halftime, but NRHEG couldn’t catch Maple River in the second half.
The Panther gained 261 yards of total offense compared to Maple River’s 234, but four interceptions and four lost fumbles was too much to overcome.
Geoff Ramaker led the Panthers’ rushing attack with 92 yards on 16 carries.
Lundberg went 18-for-31 for 167 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
Chad Schlaak and Evan Ferber each had five receptions for 55 and 31 yards, respectively.
