I’m in agreement with the Albert Lea Tribune’s endorsement of Vern Rasmussen for mayor for city of Albert Lea. He’s the person we need now.

While being a fellow member with Vern of Port Authority/Greater Jobs Inc. I’ve observed Vern as a champion of economic development. As part of the Albert Lea Economic Development Agency, I’ve seen Vern act as a positive force for growth and progress for our community.

Vern stands for fiscal responsibility in budgets and shows excellent judgement overall on a multitude of issues. He stands out as a young, energetic person to be a leader with vision for or city’s future.

Vern is ready to become our mayor to deal with key issues in selecting the new city manager and finance director positions. As mayor, he can guide the stance for streetscape and renovation/occupancy of Freeborn National Bank building.

I urge our citizens to give Vern Rasmussen a solid vote turnout endorsement for Albert Lea mayor on Tuesday.
