The Albert Lea girls’ swimming and diving team participated at the Austin Invite Saturday and finished seventh of eight teams. Galen Schulz shined for the Tigers, finishing in fourth place in the 50 free and 100 free events.

Also placing high for the Tigers in individual events were Lindsey Horejsi and Morgan Field, finishing fifth and eighth, respectively, in the 100 breaststroke. The 200 medley relay team, made up of Kemma Bergland, Lindsey Horejsi, Amy Horejsi and Galen Schulz finished seventh place, and the 200 free relay team, made up of Schulz, Lindsey Horejsi, Field and Amy Horejsi finished in sixth place.

The brightest moment for the girls came from the diving event where Karli Kriewall finished in second place with a score of 315.

Mady Dahl became the newest letter winner for the Tigers with her section-qualifying swim in the 200 free. She also cut her time in the 500 free.
