Tim Walz is good at spending money

Our Congressman, Tim Walz, is again writing reports telling us what a good job he is doing.

His greatest capability seems to be in giving away other people’s money. He doesn’t bother to tell us where the money is coming from to fund each of these projects. The most wasteful, of the several he has talked about, is the several-million-dollar project to tear up a perfectly good road north of the Albert Lea airport and spend several million dollars building a new one, together with an airstrip that is going to be necessary for only a few times a year.

He has voted for policies that increase government employment by 14.5 percent during his last term in office. These are jobs that are paid 50 percent more than the average salary within his district. They are jobs that, although the recipients may vote for him, add nothing to our economy. In fact, the vote he had in favor of the “cap and tax” bill is extremely detrimental to an Upper Midwest energy-short state. His vote will have the effect, if this law is implemented, of raising the cost of food for the poorest people of our society and raise the production costs for the people who produce food at all levels.

It is time to replace Congressman Tim Walz with someone who is conservative in economic policy and responsible in the political choices. I encourage your vote for Randy Demmer.
