Funeral services for C. Joanne Petersen, 77, of Albert Lea will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. C. Joanne Petersen

Joanne died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.

C. Joanne Petersen was born on Dec. 16, 1932, to Lester and Gladys (Owens) Levi in Anita, Iowa. She grew up in Clearfield, Iowa, and graduated from Clearfield High School. On Sept. 22, 1951, she married Kenneth I. Petersen in Clearfield, Iowa. Joanne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for several years and most recently was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Elks Does and Eagles Club and also volunteered at the YMCA. Joanne loved all kinds of animals especially caring for her dogs. She was a wonderful seamstress, had an eye for fashion and enjoyed wearing stylish hats. Through the years, Joanne worked as a sales clerk at Leuthold’s and Stadheim Jewelers. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include son, Ken, and wife, Susan Petersen, their children: Doug (Joy) Petersen and Matt Petersen; son, Phil Petersen, his daughters: Melissa (Chris) Bertelson, Carrie (Joe) Rossing and Amie Petersen; son, Clayton, and wife Jill Petersen, their children: Samantha, Ashley and Logan Petersen; daughter-in-law, Kandee (Scott) Petersen, their children: Randee (Joe) Lindeman, Grant (Michelle) Petersen and Jake (Sara) Petersen; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Lester Levi; sons: Douglas and Scott Petersen; and sister, Jean.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Oak Park Place for the wonderful care they gave Joanne.
