A quote from the Thursday, Nov. 4 issue of the Albert Lea Tribune, Sarah Stultz’s article headlined, “Is it to be a recount?”:

“Freeborn County Republican Party members were taking shifts outside the election rooms in both Freeborn and Mower counties Wednesday where ballots were stored.”

Call me crazy, but I trust the system and its people.

Seriously? I would have liked to think that Republican fear-mongering would not have trickled down to our community. Contrary to popular belief, not much else from Republican promises have trickled down this far.

Honestly, I am personally insulted, not just as a Democrat, but as a fellow citizen of this community, who others would believe my friends and I are amassing a mob to storm the courthouse and take possession of the ballots. Do the Republicans believe they are the only respecters of truth and guardians of justice? How outrageous! How insulting!

If I were an employee of Freeborn County I would feel like Republicans consider me an untrustworthy anarchist.
