Here are highlights in history for Nov. 28, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1986 — Two pelicans that didn’t join the flocks going south for the winter went fishing for their Thanksgiving dinners in the channel north of the Front Street Bridge.

1976 — Santa Claus arrived at the Albert Lea Airport in a plane, then traveled by horse and wagon around the city to greet people of all ages.

1946 — There was a conflict between the high school hockey team and local parents over usage of the hockey rink at Morin Park.
