Rhyleigh Kaye Hartel, 1, was born Nov. 4, 2009, in Rockford, Ill., and died unexpectedly Nov. 21, 2010. She was baptized at United Church of Christ in Freeborn on Jan. 17, 2010. Her Godparents are Vanessa Baxter, Cassie O’Conner, Joe Redman and Danny Lindley. Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 26, in Schaumburg, Ill.

A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Christ in Freeborn on Saturday. The Rev. Cherie Daniel will officiate. Visitation starts at 11 a.m. and a short prayer/memorial service at noon followed by lunch. All family and friends are welcome to attend. Memorials preferred to the family or the SIDS Foundation.

Rhyleigh is survived by her parents Jamie Johnson and Jason Hartel, of Carpentersville, Ill.; her grandparents: Jim and Sandy Johnson, of Freeborn, Michaele Mingo and Jamie Cordoba, of Illinois; great-grandparents: Clifford and Delores Redman, of Wells, and Bobbi and Tom Schiltz, of Illinois; great-great-grandmother, Hattie Parker, of Wells; aunts and uncles: Cassie and Danny Toledo and Jordan Johnson, of Freeborn, and Jessica, Cassi and David, of Illinois; and many more relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Carl and Lonne Johnson; and great-great-grandparents: Joe Parker and Arthur and Violet Redman.

Rhyleigh brought joy to all who knew her. She was a happy baby who smiled a lot. She loved Woody from Toy Story, Dora, her puppy Knox, cat Terah and playing with her parents and brother, Taybor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
