Former Freeborn County Commissioner Linda Tuttle was expected to appear in Freeborn County District Court today for a hearing as part of her alleged embezzlement case.
Tuttle, 60, is accused of diverting money from her company, Albert Lea Abstract Co., into her own accounts to pursue an alleged gambling addiction. According to the investigation, more than $1 million in missing funds has been reported.
She faces 12 counts of felony theft by swindle, along with one count of racketeering in the case.
The court hearing was scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
According to court records, Tuttle obtained a new lawyer, Kevin O’Connor Green, of Mankato, in August. She had formerly been represented by Albert Lea lawyer Peggy Rockow.
The case is being prosecuted by Steele County Attorney Dan McIntosh.
