15 traffic crashes over the weekend

Local law enforcement responded to 15 separate traffic crashes due to slick roads over the weekend.

Albert Lea police first responded to a traffic crash at 7:46 a.m. Friday at the intersection of West Front Street and Lincoln Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Police responded to another traffic crash with no injuries at the intersection of East Main Street and East Williams Street at 12:42 p.m. Friday.

At 3:57 p.m. Friday, police responded to a traffic crash when a car hit a sign along Highway 13. No injuries were reported. At 5:32 p.m., police responded to a traffic crash with no injuries at the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Johnson Street. At 5:39 p.m. Friday, another crash with no injuries was reported at the intersection of West Front Street and U.S. Highway 69 south.

Friday at 10:45 p.m., police responded to a traffic crash with no injuries at the intersection of North First Avenue and Water Street.

Police responded to a report of a van and a truck colliding at 10:47 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Southeast Broadway and Margaretha Avenue. Again, no injuries were reported.

A traffic crash at 11 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Johnson Street was reported by Albert Lea police. One person was transported to Albert Lea Medical Center with chest pains.

Another traffic crash with no injuries was reported at East Main Street and Morningside Road at 2:31 p.m. Saturday. Police then responded to a two-car collision at the intersection of Katherine Street and East Main Street at 4:31 p.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported.

Police responded to a traffic crash with no injuries at 726 Marshall St. Sunday at 1:34 p.m. A Ford Explorer slid into a pole, and no damage to the pole was reported. At 1:42 p.m. Sunday, police responded to another vehicle crash with no injuries at 1619 W. Main St.

Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies reported a traffic crash with no injuries when a vehicle went into a ditch at 12:56 p.m. Saturday at 700th Avenue and 180th Street, Albert Lea. Another vehicle in a ditch with no injuries was reported by sheriff’s deputies at 3:02 p.m. Saturday along Hammer Road and County Road 45.

According to sheriff’s reports, a traffic crash with no injuries was reported Sunday at 9:59 a.m. along County Road 20 and County Road 245.

Hit and runs reported

A hit and run crash was reported at 9:02 a.m. Saturday at 603 Ulstad Ave. According to Albert Lea police reports, a mirror was knocked off of a vehicle. A report was filed.

A hit and run vehicle crash was reported Sunday at 12:44 a.m. at 2306 E. Main St. A report was filed with Albert Lea police.

Another hit and run crash was reported at 11:43 p.m. Sunday at 1326 Garfield Ave. Property damage to a mailbox was reported.

Stolen vehicle at Godfather’s Pizza

Albert Lea police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle Saturday at 10:55 p.m. It was reported that a white 2005 GMC was taken from Godfather’s Pizza, 509 E. Main St. The vehicle was located in Iowa and the subject was arrested.

Burglaries reported

Albert Lea police responded to a burglary report at 1223 James Ave. at 11:33 p.m. Saturday. According to police reports, the house was broken into and cash was missing. No forced entry was found into the residence, and a report was filed.

An attempted burglary was reported at 7:09 p.m. Sunday at 221 E. Main St., according to police reports.

Woman cited for shoplifting

Gabrielle Ann Pothier was cited by Albert Lea Police officers for theft at Shopko at 3:19 p.m. Friday.

Arrest made for drug possession

Shawn Casey Tope was arrested by Albert Lea police officers Friday at 12:43 a.m. at 621 Hope Lane for possession of drugs.

Two cited for minor consumption

Albert Lea police cited Ashley Lynn Myers for minor consumption and underage drinking and driving Friday at 1:15 a.m. during a routine traffic stop at the intersection of Southeast Marshall Street and Prospect Avenue.

Tyree Lavertt Williams, 18, was cited by Albert Lea police for minor consumption at 11:09 p.m. Saturday at 2306 E. Main St.

Open container

Joseph Daniel Bunne was cited by Albert Lea police for open container in public Sunday at 12:44 a.m. at 134 W. William St.

Shed damage on Friday

Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies responded to a criminal damage property report Friday at 12:04 p.m. at 18067 860th Ave., Austin. A shed was reported damaged and a report was filed.
