Adriana died on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, with family at her side, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs, Iowa.

Adriana Funfar was born on Nov. 30, 1924, in Sheldon, Iowa, to Arie and Jenny (Roelofs) Wildeman. She spent most of her childhood living in rural Iowa. She was united in marriage to Willie Funfar on Sept. 23, 1943, in Austin. They resided at the Funfar farm near Glenville where they raised their two daughters. They were later blessed with six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Adriana had a strong Christian faith and was a life long member of the United Methodist Church of Glenville. She was a member of the Sunshine Circle, the Royal Neighbors Club and a mother’s club. She had a great love for animals, gardening, her apple trees, and most of all her family. She devoted her life to being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her smile was warm and her heart open to all.

She was known for her hospitality. Everyone enjoyed sitting in her kitchen visiting over coffee and cookies. She loved to bake, especially “great-grandma buns.” She was a wonderful listener. She always had time for anyone who needed a shoulder to lean on. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Willie, of Glenville; her children: Margaret (Glenn) Nielsen of McFarland, Wis., and Judi Funfar of Charles City, Iowa; grandchildren: Jennifer (Matt) Snow, Dan Nielsen, Stephen Nielsen, Heather (Chad) Lapolice and Aaron (Cindy) Mason; great-grandchildren: Luke and Arie Snow, Derek and Dylan Lapolice, and Adric and Elyse Mason; six nephews and a niece.

Adriana was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Heide Mason; sister, Johanna Prizler; and brother, Art Wildeman.
