Local law enforcement officials responded to many traffic crashes due to slick road conditions and low visibility during a snowstorm on Monday.
Albert Lea police responded to a traffic crash at 11:52 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Hammer Road and Greenwood Drive. The vehicle was in the snowbank and no injuries were reported.
A two-vehicle accident was reported at 12:01 p.m. Monday at 1000 E. Hawthorne St. Police reports state only minor damage to the vehicles and no injuries were sustained.
A female reportedly went into the ditch at the intersection of Sunset Street and U.S. Highway 13 at 1:14 p.m. Monday. Albert Lea police reports state there were no injuries.
Police also responded to a report that a motorist was unable to get a vehicle up the hill at Sunset Street at 1:28 p.m. Monday. No damages or injuries were reported. According to police reports, a few more vehicles were stuck along Sunset Street at 2:27 p.m. Monday.
A vehicle hit a snowbank at 5:51 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Glenview Drive. Albert Lea police reports state the vehicle was able to back out and there were no injuries.
Albert Lea police responded to a semi with trailer partially blocking the right lane at 609 E. Main St. at 6:14 p.m. Monday. The officer assisted with traffic control until the vehicle was towed.
A traffic crash was reported at 708 Freeborn Ave. at 10:16 p.m. Monday. According to Albert Lea police reports, the car was hit while parked along the street. No injuries were reported.
A white Nissan Maxima reportedly went into the ditch on the eastbound ramp of I-90 from northbound I-35 at County Road 46 near Hayward. The crash occurred at 8:57 a.m. Monday and Freeborn County Sheriff’s deputies reported no injuries.
Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies responded to a semi truck in the ditch at 9:40 a.m. Monday. According to sheriff’s reports, the truck was heading southbound on I-35 and went at the ditch near mile 13. The Minnesota State Patrol was on the scene and no injuries were reported.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a semi on its side with a load of cars, leaking fuel, Monday at 5:09 p.m. on I-35 near mile 2.
Sheriff’s deputies assisted Minnesota State Patrol at 8:13 p.m. Monday on I-35 southbound near mile 19. According to sheriff’s reports, a vehicle rolled over and it was unknown whether or not there were injuries.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a black Jeep stuck in the road at the intersection of 680th Avenue and 220th Street in Alden at 8:47 p.m. Monday. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was moved.
Woman cited for drunken driving
Rakshita Lynne Evenson was cited by Albert Lea police at 11:43 p.m. at the corner of South Newton Avenue and East Fourth Street for fourth-degree drunken driving, illegal consumption, illegal possession of alcohol and drug paraphernalia.
Hit and run crash
Albert Lea police responded to a report of a hit and run crash at 8:59 a.m. Monday at 401 St. Thomas Ave. It was reported that a cream colored Pontiac was hit sometime after Friday. A report was filed.
Theft report on Fountain St.
Albert Lea police responded to a report of theft at 1322 Fountain St. at 9:15 a.m. Monday. It was reported that someone received a credit card bill for something that person did not charge. A report was filed.
