Here are highlights in history for Dec. 10, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1987 — A seasonal feature in the Tribune was based on “Santa’s Helpers.” And Santa’s Helper for this issue was Major Norma DeGraff of the Albert Lea Salvation Army.

1977 — A Tribune editor commented about young boys collecting beer cans – after they had been emptied – as part of a then popular hobby.

1937 — Thompson Wulff Co. of Albert Lea had 7,625 Christmas trees on hand which would be distributed to retailers in the area for sale to customers.
