The Iowa State Patrol’s crash report site and Iowa Amber Alert sites are back online, following a breach on Nov. 27.

According to a news release, the vulnerability was identified and has been addressed. The Division of Criminal Investigation’s Cyber Crime Unit, the Iowa Information Security Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Taskforce are conducting an ongoing criminal investigation of the people who breached the site, and no additional information is available at this time.

The sites had been shut down after the breach by the Department of Administrative Services’ Information Technology Enterprise.

A test of the Iowa Amber Alert system will be held before Jan. 1. The media and public will be notified when the Amber Alert test will take place.
