The Iowa State Patrol Divisionn on Tuesday released the number of phone calls answered by communication specialists at the six communication centers across the state during the first winter storm of the season for much of Iowa.

The information includes the number of crashes state troopers responded to on Saturday and Sunday.

During that time, State Patrol Communications answered 2,543 calls. Iowa State Troopers responded to 17 personal injury crashes, 47 property-damage only crashes and one deer collision. The Iowa State Patrol did not investigate a fatality crash this weekend.
