Margie Marie (Waalkens) Buckmaster, 66, passed away Dec. 28, 2010, in Shawnee, Okla.

She was born July 16, 1944, in Hollandale to Melvin and Mary (Lover ink) Waalkens. She grew up in the Hollandale/Hayward area.

She married Bob Willaby in December 1960; they later divorced. Of this union three sons were born: Mike, Rick and Brian. In September 1970 she married Louis Buckmaster at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. In 1973 she moved to Oklahoma where she continued to reside until her death. After raising her three boys and always yearning for a daughter her wish finally came true when daughter, Mary, was born in 1982.

In addition to being a homemaker, Margie worked as a waitress at the Country Kitchen while residing in Minnesota and upon her move to Oklahoma she continued to do waitress work at various restaurants.

Margie was a homemaker who loved music, sewing, gardening, canning and baking. Margie was known for her pastry delights (banana creme pie) and not a day went by that someone did not stop by for a cup of coffee and something sweet to eat. Margie especially enjoyed playing “Rook” with her grandsons.

Margie is survived by her son, Mike (Donna) Willaby, of Albert Lea; son, Rick (Annette) Willaby, of Wagoner, Okla.; son, Brian (Chantel), of Riverton, Wyo.; daughter, Mary Buckmaster, of Tecumseh, Okla.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with another due in February 2011; brother, John (Judy) Waalkens, of Glenville; two sisters: Babe (Larry) Enderson of Albert Lea and Bev (Lynn) Huston of Austin; nieces, nephews and other relatives; special friends: Jack and Carolyn Kiefer and Erin and Josh Gee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Buckmaster; and sister, Reka Neitzel.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Oakland Baptist Church in Shawnee, Okla. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Okla. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Minnesota. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure to hold.
