The jury trial for former Albert Lea City Manager Jim Norman has been tentatively scheduled for Jan. 11 in Freeborn County District Court.
However, because Norman’s case is scheduled at the same time as several other trials, there is a possibility the date could be moved, according to a court administrator.
Norman is accused of misusing the city-issued credit card for personal purchases during his time as city manager.
Specifically, he faces three charges including one felony count of permitting false claims against government by a public officer, one felony count of theft with the intent to exercise temporary control and one gross misdemeanor count of misconduct by a public officer.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges Nov. 29.
A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 7.
Norman began full time as city manager in May, but was placed on administrative leave Aug. 27. He resigned as city manager in September as part of a separation agreement.
