Panthers hand Tigers first loss

Luke Klugerz recorded a goal and three assists as the Rochester Century Panthers boys’ hockey team defeated the Albert Lea Tigers 6-3 Thursday at City Arena.
“A lot of penalties in the game,” Albert Lea coach Roy Nystrom said. “Each team had nine penalties.”
The Panthers got things started quickly as Brandon Kautz and Blake Heroff both scored in the first period to push Rochester Century out to a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Albert Lea got on the board in the second period as David Enstad got the puck in the net to make the score 3-1.
However, minutes later the Panthers scored again to give Rochester Century a 4-1 lead after two periods.
In the third period, the teams traded goals as Nick Raehsler and Luke Klugerz had goals for the Panthers, while Eric Carlson and Enstad scored for the Tigers.
Albert Lea out shot Rochester Century 34-28 on the night.
The Tigers hit the ice again on Saturday as they host Rochester Mayo.
