Panthers too much for Tigers

Alik Smed scored 14 points, while Tyler Wichmann had 13 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Rochester Century boys’ basketball team defeated the Albert Lea Tigers 60-46 Thursday in Rochester.

“We weren’t able to get into our halfcourt offense tonight,” Albert Lea coach Lucas Kreuscher said. “We had no rhythm.”

The Tigers struggled from the floor as they shot only 26 percent from the field and recorded only four offensive rebounds on the night.

“Our decision making wasn’t good,” Kreuscher said. ” We just allowed their guys to clear us out and get offensive rebounds.”

The Tigers will look to get back in the win column on Saturday as they travel to Rochester to take on the Mayo Spartans.
