Here are highlights in history for Dec. 13, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1993 — The winner of the annual Holiday Home Lighting Contest was the Schlosser family of rural Manchester. Their display used 10,500 Christmas bulbs.
1983 — A pre-winter storm dumped five or more inches of snow on the Albert Lea area and created problems for motorists and truck drivers.
1963 — School District 241 Board of Education said the four real future needs were a new north side junior high school, an addition to Halverson School and kindergarten additions to the Clarks Grove and Hayward Schools.
