Rebels falls to Cardinals 46-43

WELLS — Down 25-17 at half the the Farimont Cadinals, the United South Central Rebels girls’ basketball team built a six-point lead in the second half but lost 46-43 in Wells.

The Rebels (3-1, 1-0 Gopher) forced 30 turnovers but were unable to take advantage, according to head coach Stu Hendrickson.

Hendrickson also said that the team shot poorly from the free throw line and were outrebounded 52-26 by a “bigger, stronger, more physical team.”

Val Sahr led the Rebels with 11 points and five rebounds, while Danielle Koestler scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Kayla Stenzel led the team with seven rebounds and chipped in three points.
