Summit Avenue is here in Albert Lea

One of my most fondest memories as a child was when all of my family would load the car up and head over to Summit Avenue in St. Paul to see all the majestic mansions decorated with Christmas lights and decorations. The feeling of wonder and excitement for a child to see the beauty of the lights, the music and just being warm with your family was and experience. I attended a function at the museum this past Thursday and as I drove up and parked, all of those memories came flooding back to me.

Seeing the many different lights throughout the village was truly a beautiful sight. Thank you, Pat Mulso, your staff and the many volunteers it had to have taken to give Albert Lea a “Summit Avenue.” Not only is the beauty of the village a festive delight for all to see, but you have given “light” to one of the most precious parts of Freeborn County our museum and village. I encourage you all to drive out to see the magnificent lighting display at the museum both inside and out, but also support the devotion that those running our local gem are doing to preserve our past history and keeping it alive.
