Tigers girls’ basketball falls to Northfield

Northfield’s Elena Huber and Allyson Harris were too much for the Albert Lea girls’ basketball team Tuesday, as the two combined for 48 points to help the Raiders beat the Tigers 73-60.
The Tigers (0-2) forced 21 turnovers while committing just 13, but were outrebounded 43-29 and shot 34.5 percent compared to the Radiers’ (2-1) 58 percent.
Alyssa Sager led the Tigers with 15 points, going 5-of-6 from the free throw line, with six rebounds and three steals.
Bryn Woodside scored 14 points and had four rebounds and three steals, and Skyler Anderson chipped in 12 points on 8-of-10 free-throw shooting.
The Tigers made 18-0f-26 free throws as a team for 69 percent.
The Tigers play again Thursday at Winona.
