The funeral service for Verdella O. Farris of Albert Lea will be 1 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, Albert Lea. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before service at the chapel.

Verdella died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea. She was 99 years old.

Verdella was born in Lakefield on Aug. 22, 1911, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Kuhlman) Meister. She was a lifetime resident of Freeborn County. Verdella was a member of First Lutheran Church, Glenville. She was married to Adolphus Walter Farris. She loved visiting with her friends and going to all the family gatherings.

Verdella is survived by her four children: Loretta (Don) Norden of Kensington, Kan., Laverne Farris of Garner, Iowa, Robert Farris of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Norma (Jim) Nelson of Albert Lea; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sons-in-law: John Brabec of Albert Lea and Elvin Lambert of Kensington, Kan.

Verdella was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three children: Frank Farris, Darlene Lambert and Beverly Brabec; daughters-in-law: Lorraine Farris and Dorothy Farris; grandson, Greg Brabec.
