You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.

Public Library and Thornecrest: If you enjoy a good book don’t miss this chance to deliver books from the Albert Lea Public Library to the library at Thorne Crest. The books are delivered once a month on the first Tuesday. A folding cart is provided by the library so transporting the books and media disks in your vehicle is simplified. Please call Stumme at 377-7433 to get connected for sharing good books!

National Vitality Center: It’s your sneak peak of a soft opening for Albert Lea’s National Vitality Center from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16, with a special open house. You are invited to help host the party or just come savor the center and special holiday decorations at 211 S. Broadway. Call Stumme at 377-7433 to schedule your time to host this fun one of a kind event.

Headstart: Come in to Brookside Education Center and play with or read stories to preschoolers. Classes are in session Monday through Thursday, late morning and early afternoon. Call and we can schedule a time that works for you. Come once or make it a habit.

RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, Minnesota Board on Aging and Corporation for National and Community Services.
