Adeline Burgett, 82, St. Cloud

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, for Adeline M. “Addy” Burgett, 82, of St. Cloud, who died Jan. 6, 2011. The Rev. Dr. C. Edward Morgan will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to services on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. The VFW Post 428 Auxiliary will pray at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Addy was born on May 25, 1928, in Chester, Iowa, to John and Rosina (Schreiber) Malcomson. She married Donald Burgett on Nov. 24, 1946, in LeRoy. She was employed by District 742 as an elementary school secretary. She was an active community volunteer. Addy was a 63-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary in LeRoy and an active member of the VFW Post 428, St. Cloud. Addy enjoyed bowling and was a member of the 600 club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in St. Cloud. Addy was a loving wife, mother and friend to many. Her many friends and family members will miss her friendly smile. She has now joined her lifelong fishing partner, Don.

Addy is survived by her children: David (Paula), of Cloquet, Linda Mickelson, of Albert Lea, Luanne (Kurt) Bjorklund, of Armstrong, Iowa, and Robert, of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Velma Moe of LeRoy and Mavis Armstrong of Waterloo, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and an infant brother.

Memorials are preferred to the VFW Post 428 Ladies Auxiliary or the VA Hospital St. Cloud.
