Support group to start up
A Parkinson’s disease support group is being formed in the Albert Lea area. Parkinson’s victims, spouses, families and all those interested or touched by Parkinson’s disease are invited and encouraged to attend a meeting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Albert Lea Senior Center at Skyline Plaza. Coffee and treats will be served.
This informal meeting is intended to provide an opportunity for those people suffering with Parkinson’s disease to exchange information and bring support to one another. People can call Ann Troska at 874-3367 or Maureen Ruble at 373-1808 if they have questions.
Drug store to give free flu shots
Sterling Drug will offer flu shots for free at many of its stores.
The drug store in Albert Lea is hosting a flu clinic from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, where free-of-charge flu shots will be given while supplies last.
“Many patients believe they have to get flu shots in October or November and after that, it’s too late. In fact, you can get flu shots up through March to protect yourself. And, doing so can help keep you healthier and avoid all that comes along with the flu,” said Tim Gallagher, COO for Austin-based Astrup Drug, parent company to Sterling.
Appointments are encouraged and can be scheduled by calling Sterling at 373-1486.
