LAKE MILLS, Iowa- After a long holiday break, the Lake Mill-Northwood-Kensett Ducks were back on the wrestling mats Tuesday as they hosted Eagle Grove and West Hancock.

The Ducks swept the duals with a 58-16 win over Eagle Grove and a 69-6 win over West Hancock.

“We wrestled pretty well for the first meet after the big holiday break,” LM-NK coach Alex Brandenburg said. “You never know how the kids are going to wrestle after a long layoff, but it was nice to start the second half with a couple of blowout wins. It was nice to have a big crowd on hand for our only home weekday meet.”

In their first dual, the Ducks got pins from Blake Huntington, Royce Byrnes, JR Linquist, Gabe Quisling, Lincoln Boehmer, Noah Irons and Calvin Beal to cruise past Eagle Grove.

In their second match against West Hancock, the Ducks won 13 out of the 14 matches.

Winning with pins were Merrick Harig, Lincoln Boehmer and Noah Irons.

After the wins, LM-NK now sports a 9-2 record in dual meets.

The Ducks travel to Newman on Thursday.
