It always is fun to see the rivalry between Albert Lea and Owatonna when it comes to high school wrestling. It is even more fun when the Tigers beat the Huskies, as they did Thursday 35-15. The Tiger wrestlers won at nine of 14 weight classes, proving why they are ranked No. 6 in the state. Good job, boys!
Anyone who has a Kindle, iPad, iPod, Nook, Reader or laptop computer will be happy to learn that the Albert Lea Public Library now offers electronic books in text and audio forms. This thumbs up also belongs to the Albert Lea Public Library Foundation’s Fountain Lake Bookstore, which provided the funds. Check out the library’s website, www.alplonline.org, where the collection is available at anytime.
To the Bent Tree Wind Farm construction workers.
Yay! The 122nd and final wind turbine in the wind farm went up Sunday afternoon. There still is work to do, such as connection the turbines to power (so if you see some not working yet, that is why), but the painstaking work of getting these things vertical is done. Congratulations to Alliant Energy, general contractor Barnhart Crane & Rigging and all the subcontractor employees. Changing the landscape is not easy.
