The undefeated Glenville-Emmons Wolverines boys’ basketball team passed their biggest test of the season Friday by beating the Lanesboro Burros 57-50 on the road.
“It’s a huge win for us against a talented team,” Wolverines head coach Dan Fredrickson said. “I’m so proud of the effort from our guys tonight.”
The Wolverines (10-0, 7-0 Southeast) lead the Burros (6-3, 4-2) 23-19 at halftime.
The Wolverines’ Andrew Lau had 18 points, 11 rebounds and four steals, while Tyler Woodside had 12 points and eight rebounds.
“Lau and Woodside dominated the paint,” Fredrickson said. “They shouldered a lot of the load on offense.”
Ryan Dempewolf chipped in 18 points.
The Wolverines play next at 7:15 p.m. Monday at LeRoy-Ostrander (3-9, 2-5).
