Lau, Wolverines top Cardinals

Andrew Lau scored 34 points Monday as the Glenville-Emmons Wolverines boys’ basketball team beat the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals 73-50 in Le Roy.

Lau shot a blistering 15-of-20 from the field and has averaged 32 points per game over the Wolverines’ (11-0, 8-0 Southeast) last three games.

The Wolverines led the Cardinals (3-10, 2-6) 31-20 at halftime, but shot 65 percent during the second half while outscoring their opponent 42-30.

Lau also contributed seven assists and five steals while Tyler Woodside chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds and four steals.

Wolverines’ sophomore Wyatt Madson scored 11 points and Landon Hall scored nine points with eight assists.

The Wolverines play again at 7:15 p.m. Friday against the Houston Hurricanes (8-2, 6-1) in Glenville. The Hurricanes trail the first-place Wolverines by one game in the Southeast Conference.
