Man seen with bloody hand

Albert Lea police responded to a report of a man found walking in the middle of the street with blood on his hand near Euclid Avenue early this morning.

Albert Lea Police Lt. J.D. Carlson said the man refused to talk to an officer and stated he was walking home.

Officers eventually convinced the man to go to the emergency room at Albert Lea Medical Center, where he was transported by a private vehicle.

After he was taken to the hospital, police followed the man’s blood trail from Euclid Avenue all the way to Minnesota Avenue up the front steps of a residence.

Albert Lea Police Lt. J.D Carlson said it appeared that the man had received a laceration across his hand.

No other details were available as of press time.

Suspicious car reported

Albert Lea police received a call of a car stopping and asking a Sibley Elementary School student if he wanted candy at about 3:43 p.m. Tuesday at 1008 Maplehill Drive. According to police, the driver of the car was a high school-aged boy, and he had a high school-aged girl in the passenger seat.

There was a sign in the back of the car stating “free candy.”

One injured in crash

One person was transported by a private vehicle to Albert Lea Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of West Clark Street and South Washington Avenue at 7:31 a.m. Tuesday, according to police reports.
