On Target: Rebels top Clippers

The United South Central girls’ basketball was right on target Saturday, literally, beating the Cleveland Clippers 46-29 at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Leading 25-21 at halftime, the Rebels (9-5, 6-1 Gopher) held the Clippers (2-7, 2-4 Valley) scoreless through the first 13 minutes of the second half.

The Rebels forced 34 Clippers turnovers behind a season-high 22 steals.

Val Sahr led the Rebels with 23 points, seven rebounds and five steals.

All 13 Rebels players saw playing time on the home court of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Rebels play again at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday against Faribault Bethlehem Academy (7-5, 5-2 Gopher) in Wells.
