Panthers rally past Cyclones 53-42

Evan Ferber scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half Monday as the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers boys’ basketball team rallied past the St. Clair Cyclones 53-42 in St. Clair.

The Panthers (5-10, 3-4 Gopher) trailed the Cyclones (5-6, 3-2 Valley) 24-12 at halftime but scored 41 points in the second half behind just two offensive turnovers.

The win was the Panthers’ third win in a row, and first on the road, after losing five straight and eight of their last nine

Hunter Eustice also joined Feber in double digits with 14 points. Sam Lundberg scored six points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

The Panthers play again at 7:15 p.m. Friday against Mankato Loyola (7-2, 4-1 Gopher) in New Richland.
