Panthers rout Eagles 74-51

The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers girls’ basketball team made 17-of-22 free throws Monday in a 74-5 win over the Maple River Eagles.

The Panthers’ (12-2, 5-2 Section 2AA) Carlie Wagner reached 20 points for the fifth consecutive game with 22 and added seven assists. Kristina Cole had 17 points and seven rebounds and Jade Schultz had 13 points, eight rebounds four assists and three steals.

The Panthers led the Eagles (2-11, 1-5) 41-21 at halftime and shot 5-of-11 from behind the arc. The Panthers also rebounded the Eagles 47-35.

Anna Schlaak chipped in eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds and six steals.

The Panthers play again at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Waseca (1-8, 0-2 South Central).
