Here are highlights in history for Jan. 30, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1986 — The Minnesota State Spring Barrow Show was taking place at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds.
1976 — A proposal for a 61-unit apartment complex near the City Beach on the north side based on the former greenhouse site was rejected by the Albert Lea Advisory Planning Commission with a 10-0 vote.
1946 — Charles L. Upin purchased the interests of his partner, S.J. Lasker, in the St. Paul Clothing House of Albert Lea.
