After ending a seven-game losing streak with a win over Faribault last Friday, the Albert Lea Tigers girls’ basketball team looked to take another step in the right direction on Tuesday as they welcomed the Rochester John Marshall Rockets to Albert Lea High School.
Alyssa Sager scored 21 points and hauled down nine rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Rockets defeated the Tigers 65-45.
“It was kind of a Jekyll and Hyde type of game,” AL coach Sean Gillam said. “I don’t know what’s wrong, but its my job to find out why we can’t play a full 36 minutes at home.”
Along with Sager, Taylor Friehl was the other Tiger scorer to reach double figures in points with 10.
Albert Lea hits the court again on Thursday as they travel to Mankato East.
