Traffic crashes abound

Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies responded to several traffic crashes with no injuries over the weekend, including:
• A traffic crash at Interstate 35 and Highway 251 at 7:28 p.m. Friday.
• A traffic crash at I-35 northbound and Highway 65 at 10:52 p.m. Friday. The vehicle was towed out.
• A traffic crash along I-90 east of Highway 13 at 2:36 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle was towed to TNT.
• A crash of a Ford Escape into a utility pole at the intersection of County Road 45 and Independence Avenue at 10:28 a.m. Saturday.
• A semi in the median at 1:09 p.m. Saturday near mile 17 of I-35. There was reportedly a large amount of debris blocking the interstate.
• A semi in the ditch at 5:18 a.m. Monday near mile 2 of southbound Interstate 35.

One person injured in crash
One person was reportedly injured in a traffic crash near the intersection of I-90 and County Road 30 at 2:17 a.m. Saturday, according to Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports. Reports indicated Judson Allen Romminga was transported by ambulance to Albert Lea Medical Center.
Two-car crash
Albert Lea police responded to a two-car fender bender at 10:28 a.m. Monday at the intersection of East Main Street and Wilson Street. One minor injury was reported but no transport wasnecessary.
Car totaled
One car was totaled when it was hit by another at 806 James Ave. at 11:15 a.m. Monday. According to Albert Lea police, no injuries were reported.
Car vs. deer
Albert Lea police officers responded to a traffic crash at 5:35 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Eastgate Road when a car hit a deer. No injuries were reported.
Car vs. building
A gray Jeep Cherokee hit the building at 1147 S. Broadway Ave. at 5:52 p.m. Friday. According to Albert Lea police reports, there were no injuries.
Drunken driving arrests
Tammy Jo Daniels was cited for second-degree drunken driving by Albert Lea police during a routine traffic stop at the intersection of South Washington Avenue and West William Street at 1:41 a.m. Saturday. Daniels was held for bail and the vehicle was towed.
Jessica Fay Johnson was arrested by Albert Lea police and cited for fourth-degree drunken driving and open bottle violations during a traffic stop at the intersection of South Broadway Avenue and East College Street at 11:45 p.m. Saturday. Stephanie Michelle Hassing was cited for an open bottle violation during the same stop.
Thomas Alan Leland, 51, was arrested for second-degree drunken driving by Albert Lea police during a traffic stop at 2:08 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Ramsey Street, according to reports.
Thefts reported
Jorge Sanchez was cited by Albert Lea police for shoplifting at Walmart at 3:36 p.m. Sunday. Police also picked up two juvenile shoplifters at Shopko at 3:28 p.m. Sunday. The juveniles were released to their parents.
A purse was reported stolen to Albert Lea police at 10:23 p.m. Saturday at 2510 Bridge Ave.
Property damage
Albert Lea police responded to a report of criminal property damage at 10:35 p.m. Saturday at 2218 E. Main St. The window was broken out of a gray 2005 Ford Focus while the driver was at work.
Open bottle
Mandi Marie Jablonski, 26, was cited for open bottle and seatbelt violations during a traffic stop by Albert Lea police at 130 W. College St. at 11:04 p.m. Saturday.
