The Albert Lea Tigers wrestling team in one step closer to a Big Nine championship after beating the Faribault Falcons 46-30 Thursday in Faribault.

Dakota Wangsness, Tristan Westerlund, Cory Hansen and Caleb Gaudian all earned falls for the Tigers who won seven of the 12 weight classes without forfeits.

The Tigers’ Dalton Westerlund earned a 12-4 major decision over the Falcons’ Dalton Chmellk at 152 pounds.

The Tigers wrestle again Saturday at the Champlin Park Rebel Duals.
