You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. To help with any of them or to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
American Cancer Society: Daffodil Days Sale in early March needs help with the behind-the-scenes planning and footwork; the leadership team welcomes you. We need people to do publicity, pre-sales, or distribution beginning Feb. 1 through March 12. You, too, can help give daffodils and hope by calling 377-7433 for Senior Resources.
Martin Luther King Breakfast: The 23rd annual MLK Day Breakfast will be held at Albert Lea’s First Lutheran Church, Bethany Hall 7 to 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 17. To help serve breakfast or clean up, call Stumme at 377-7433 and volunteer making this a day for service. Come, celebrate Martin Luther King’s legacy by saying no to bullying and yes to non-violence.
Crime Victims Crisis Center: Training for new volunteer advocates for crime victims starts in March. At no cost, you can learn to help with group sessions, carry the on-call phone or develop group activities. For more information or to request an application form, call 377-5464 and ask for Michelle.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
