The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
ACS Daffodil Sales: Meet Liv M. Hope, the bear designed especially to share hope for all people facing cancer. Pre-sale ordering packets for “Liv M. Hope” bear and daffodils have begun to be distributed to businesses and employees. You can help by placing an order at work or by signing up to deliver the orders on March 9 or sell bunches of daffodils at stores and banks on March 10 and 11. Call Pat at 377-7433 to be included.
Martin Luther King Breakfast: The 23rd annual MLK Day Breakfast will be held at Albert Lea’s First Lutheran Church, Bethany Hall 7 to 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 17. Come celebrate Martin Luther King’s legacy by saying no to bullying and yes to non-violence in our community.
Headstart: Come in to Brookside Education Center and read stories to preschoolers. Classes are in session Monday through Thursday, late morning and early afternoon. Call and we can schedule a time that works for you. Come once or make it a habit.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
