Charlotte Wirth, 71, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Charlotte “Syd” Fay Wirth, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev. Joel Vano will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Syd died, as she and Jerry were traveling in Dahlhart, Texas, on Jan. 30, 2011. She was born on Jan. 4, 1940, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Selmer (Sam) and Harriet (Hansen) Wangen. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and attended cosmetology school in Mankato. She married Jerry Wirth on July 23, 1972, in Mound City, S.D. They had celebrated 39 years together. Syd and Jerry had lived in Fargo, N.D., Marshall and settled in Albert Lea in 1980. She spent her life working as a hair stylist, working at Hair Designers in Albert Lea for many years.

Syd enjoyed gardening and flowers, fishing, bowling, dancing, playing cards with friends and walking her dogs which had included Brandy, Babe, Casey, and most recently Zip. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Jerry; children: Julie Keen of Prineville, Ore., Beth Stahl of Albert Lea, and Jami Holland of Perrin, Texas; 11 grandchildren: Matt, William, R.J., Daniel, Jessica, Shaun, Jenna, Jodi, Kash, Jillian and Jacey; one great-granddaughter, Bella; and brother, Bill, of Ashland, Oregon.
