A fundraiser is being held for Alden’s Morin Lake Days “Blast from the Past” held June 17-19. The current fundraiser are frozen pies, frozen soups and frozen butter braids that are for sale. The foods are easy to prepare. Orders can be placed at Alden City Office, American Bank, Village Hair Place or with a Morin Lake Days committee member by Feb. 28.
Pies include Dutch apple, peach or pumpkin for $10.50; cherry, strawberry-rhubarb or blueberry for $11; red raspberry, caramel pecan, lemon meringue or banana cream for $12; cookies and cream or French silk for $13.
The fruit pies are 40 ounces and ready to bake. The thaw and serve pies are 30 to 36 ounces.
Soup choices include cheddar vegetable, vegetable beef, chicken noodle or cream of potato for $13.50. New England clam chowder, cream of broccoli with cheese or chicken and wild rice are $14.50 per bag. Each bag makes about 15 to 18 eight-ounce servings.
Butter braid pastries sell for $10 each. Choices include cinnamon, blueberry cream cheese, strawberry cream cheese, raspberry, apple, cream cheese or a nine-count caramel roll.
A made-to-order omelet breakfast will be March 13, during the weekend of the Alden-Conger production of “Oklahoma.” All pies, soups or butter braids would be available for pick up March 13 in the cafeteria of the school from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 4 to 6 p.m. or by arrangement.
Meeting dates for the Morin Lake Days planning are Feb. 22, March 22, April 26 and May 24 at 7 p.m. at the Carlson Community Meeting Room. For more information contact Ann Bryson at 874-3871 or Gloria Peterson at 874-3929.
