Lens & Shutter Club

The Lens & Shutter Photography Club held its Jan. 20 meeting at Rofshus Precision Machine. There were 11 members and one guest in attendance.
January’s contest category was “Black and White.” Judges were Dave Sime and Carol Bertelson. Guest judge was Al Batt.
Members receiving competition awards were: Darcy Sime, first place for “Blizzard Warning,” and second place for “Elegant Grooming,” and Bertelson, third place for “The Wonder of Winter.” Honorable mentions were awarded to Mitch Pederson, Linda Eisterhold and Jim Wendel.
Merit awards were awarded to Wendel, Ron Oyer, Bernadine Peterson, Bertelson, Linda Eisterhold, John Eisterhold, Carol Haroldson, Dave Sime and Terri Simonson. Jean Aamodt won two merit awards.
A selection of January’s competition entries, including winning pictures will be displayed in the lobby of the Farmers State Bank, 1452 W. Main St., Albert Lea, this month. Each month there is a new display of club pictures at the bank.
Members receiving N4C print awards were: Dustin Petersen, second place for “Pelikiss,” and Cheryl Herold, honorable mention for “Elegant.” There were no awards for N4C digital pictorial or digital nature this month.
The program was Photography Questions and Answers, and was an open forum among the members.
The next meeting will be at the Rofshus Precision Machine Building, 1701 Margaretha Ave. Anyone with an interest in photography is welcome to attend. Competition category will be Churches. The program will be a travel log presented by John and Linda Eisterhold.
